rear silencer suspension rubbers broken - what are they from

Hi,
this is a a very lazy post, but my exhaust back box started hitting the ground on the way home this evening. Both rear rubber suspensions are broken, I would like buy some tomorrow but am not sure what they're off.

I seem to remember they're a common Ford(?) part and therefore very available (read cheap).

Anyone like to save me the effort of looking through 15 pages of the equivalent part number thread and tell me what they are?

Hi Mark

They are fitted to some Fords, Halfords also do them or pop in to any Kwikfit and they will also have them. A handy tip is to wrap each rubber with a stainless steel jubilee clip. This clip will take a lot of the strain off the rubbers and can be used to adjust the height of the two tailpipes.

The rubbers look like this, in case yours are missing

Halfords actually had some polyflex ones on the shelf!

I just went down to the local exhaust place and got some fitted for £15.

Found a Motor Factors over here and had to pay £12 for replacements.
Later found them on the web for £1.75 - Ouch !!

Several of the Ford ones will fit.

I took one of the originals along to the local Ford dealers and they had a modern equivalent that didn't look identical but the holes were the same size and all lined up prefectly.

Fitted and worked fine.

Thanks for the response, guys. Took one of the knackered rubber hangers to a local car factors and they instantly identified replacements at £1.20 each. Just to help PHers in the future, the markings on the packet state "bosal 255-593".

Ironically, at the time I had no cash on me and when I went to pay by card, the total was below their min value (£5) so I had to buy something else to make up the price!

I already had some stainless jubilee clips, so thanks especially to SimonKD for his tip as it made fine adjustment of the tailpipes really easy and hopefully take some of the strain of the rubber hangers.

Thats what I usually do or a jubilee clip.
My Rubbers are always breaking. (Oohh err!! lol) Might be worth trying the Powerflex ones I hadn't thought of trying them.
