Hi,
The tail section on my R1 cracked (because it's crap). I have done all the filling and fibreglassing, no problem there. Sanded, primed and painted (base coat, 3 medium coats and a heavy top coat) and all's good.
My problem is I've never actually lacquered before. I don't like orange peels. Any advice?
Thanks.

Either get someone with a bit more experience to do it, or DIY-it, and once it's fully cured, cut out any texture with 2000 wet and dry on a small block, and then polish the gloss back in. :-)

Can you use cutting compound as well?

Yes, use a cutting compound (and then, depending on how it performs and the final gloss you need, progressively finer compounds) to polish the gloss back in once you've cut the texture out :-)
