Setting up as a contractor

Could any of you please point me towards some reading material which I can use to understand the different forms of contracting, (Ltd, Umbrella etc) so that I can figure out the pro/cons of each and which would be most suitable?

As you can imagine a Google search threw up all sorts of dross so a link to a particularly informative website or ‘dummies guide’ type book would be great.

www.pcg.org.uk have loads of info but you might need to join to get access to all of it. IMO this is worth doing if you're going contracting anyway as they provide useful info and backup for not much money. Take a look at their (free) Guide to Freelancing and see if it helps.
