Another year older and another year of no claims...

Yet another year where my car insurance has increased.

I was expecting my wife's to increase due to this stupid "sex discrimination" nonsense and it did by 20%

But I've just had my renewal through and whilst I didn't expect a decrease, mine has gone up by 20% too !

Last time I renewed, mine went done. Seem to be in the minority judging by all the threads on here though.

How long did you shop around for? I doubt you tried very hard if the least you could find was 20% more than last years..

My wife shopped around and found her renewal to be the best price (I know that's rare)

I have a very specialist policy - lots of cars and all are modified so very hard to get any quotes.

It's cheap per car but around 30p / mile (as I don't cover many these days)

On mine made a few calls in to specialist brokers, then tried GoCompare and LloydsTSB came up 2nd lowest @£130 (-17%)lower than last year... even with points added this year. But am limited a bit as I need business use cover as well.

Was surprised how good Lloyds were ....

Not sure why that means your price should go down, also the EU directive is not in force until 21/12/12.

2%, in the end. Still, glad I don't live in "Birmingham, Liverpool, Bradford, East London, Manchester, North London, Bolton, Blackburn, Southall and Oldham. These towns and cities account for more than four in ten suspicious claims. The worst ‘blackspot’ is Birmingham — generating almost one in ten suspicious claims."

My insurance premium. I really just cant understand why mine is so high and its truelly depressing me lol.

Mine dropped by about 40% when I renewed last month.

That's largely due to me not having binned it into a hedge over the course of the year. One year's no-claims bonus does wonders.
