Picture the scene, you come home from the pub, you're in that happy merry mood where you always make the best choices imaginable, you hop onto the computer and look at eBay.
Flash forward 12 hours, you're hungover, you're hungry and in your email inbox is notification from eBay that you have won an auction for a Suzuki Vitara for £650. Has anybody else made any drunken eBay purchases that they have lived to regret, or accidently picked up an amazing bargain without even clearly thinking about it?

I've never managed to make that mistake.
Though, someone I know managed to buy a 6 foot plastic swordfish and a selelction of mermaids from ebay when they were drunk. Apparenly the only way he could get it home was by putting the roof down on his car, on a 100 mile journey, then it started raining.

And a mahoosive great moose's head. Antlers span around 5', and the whole thing sticks 4' out into the room. >£1500.
Also spent nearly £40 on a Spirograph from the mid-60's, because it brought back memories.

1990 (+/- 1 year) Ford Escort 1.6 (IIRC) Auto. £113. Had a good few months Tax and MOT but not a hope in hell of passing another. Was a surprisingly reliable motor (despite driving as though it had triangular wheels and sand for transmission fluid) for six months or so until I scrapped it with a knackered starter motor for £50, giving a net cost of £10/month motoring. Very nearly made a big hole in the wall of the beautiful Grade I listed Founder's building at Royal Holloway university but narrowly avoided by a flash moment of gifted Makinen style driving by a lad whom would have never heard of the word oversteer and likely never will. Suspension was in surprisingly good shape when I got it, and in surprisingly awful shape when I got rid of it (a lot of speedbumps on campus, why drive over them when you can fly?)
1991 Toyota MR2 N/A. £670. A good car, lasted a good 6 months or so before I decided to jumpstart it with the leads the wrong way round. Luckily Toyota had the good sense to account for idiots like me and fit a 120A master fuse, replaced that, worked again and sold it requiring a new battery.
So my drunken purchases have actually turned out to be quite useful!
