As per the subject line I'm going to look at a 1992 Miata with allegedly 49K original miles with a view to using it as a daily driver/ occasional track day car.

Being a complete newcomer to the MX5 world what exactly I should be aware of or looking for?

Appreciate any input.

I'd also add that 49k in 19 years is VERY low mileage so take a good look for signs of servicing and make sure things like oil and cam-belt changes have been done at the right time.

Its always amazes me that sellers of low mileage cars think their selling a gem until the lack of history or deferred maintenance is brought to their attention.

I spent ages looking for a 'good' low mileage Porsche 964 with continuous history.
Took me 18 months but found one eventually. I loved the hunt as much as I love the car itself yes
