It's completely unacceptable that people are clocking up to 39 points on their licence
Fanning the flames there, it's a person not, "people"

"Absolutely vital that people with 12 points are banned"..."danger to other road users"...

Emotive language - but somebody could rack up 12 points fairly easily without being a liability - say a cheeky 80 on a clear motorway and a bad tempered copper, moving out of the way out of an ambulance at red traffic lights, driving without insurance due to an innocent mistake (as the bloke driving his bosses car without realising his DoC cover had been removed). That's 12 points - boom, job lost, house gone, wife & kids left eek

Or even easier, 4 tyres under the legal limit.

Sounds a bit fishy this 39 point person, is it possibly an emergency services driver who has accidentally been credited a crapload of points which are under appeal, or similar? Can't see the court letting someone off a ban on 9/10 separate occasions!

I know this sounds kinda far fetched, but me and some friends recently got a lift from a old lady driving a BMW E32 7 series, she boasted how she has 30odd points on her licence and not been banned because she "had cancer and the court allowed her to keep driving" Yeah i know bks, but she while we were in the car, she was blasting some trance music while driving on the wrong side of the road... we were quite drunk but called her "Jamiroquai's mum" because she had a big fluffy hat lol. I have pics for the haters lol.
Just thought i should share, this was in Cardiff btw.

Perhaps it's an admin error. I can't believe someone could get to 39 points quick enough to avoid needing to go to court a number of times.

The person could have done 31mph in a 30, 13 times for all we know. I don't see how 39 points makes them dangerous to other road users.

If it is true then they are utter morons for getting caught that many times! If they are that stupid then they are not fit to be in charge of a vehicle.

I wish she was my grandma biggrin I did hear of a guy who was facing a ban for driving at 140mph on the motorway in a liveried paramedic's car with lights and sirens operating delivering blood for an emergency transfusion. Understandably he thought he had to hurry as someone was dying on an operating table. I think he ended up with a load of points on his licence but was allowed to carry on driving for the sake of his job while he contested it.
