Hi all, hopefully be getting an XKR from a dealer soon. Do I go for their own extended warranty (3 yrs at abt £1000) or go for a Jag warranty for likely 3 times the cost?

Or, perhaps neither, and save the money for the unexpected instead?

As with anything, read the small print. Jag warranties have gone up?! They were £850 about 5 years ago. Jaguar then got a 3rd party in to provide the cover and they went up considerably.

In my book, if you can afford to do some expensive repairs if things go wrong, say £3k's worth, then skip the warranty and keep that money in the bank. Don't get upset if you have to use it! If you don't want the risk, I would stick to the Jaguar warranty. They are expensive, but that's because these cars are expensive to fix!

Good luck.

The few times I have used the warranty (jag warranty), they have always paid up, no quibbles.

Though in fairness very little has actually gone wrong. But if anything did..
