So was I, couldnt get a decibel check anywhere locally so I bought a proper meter.

Drop me a PM if you would like to bob round and get a reading off your exhaust before booking a track day (eg. at Croft or Elvington where they can be a bit keen sometimes).

I'm south of York near Church Fenton. Happy to help. No point you buying one too.

Nice one. I may take you up on that sometime.

Do you know what static engine revs they check readings at and how far behind the car?

I think its 2/3rds of max generally although my Indy revs to 16k but at Oulton I just said I had the change light set at 12K (ish ahem) and they tested it at 8500.

Ive read the test should be at a 90 degree angle from the exhaust tip and at a distance of 50cm (I think, easily checked).
