Right, I now have a 'man in the trade' looking for a car for us (sportwagon jtd, veloce, with leather, A/C and no red paint!). I know that at somepoint in 2001 they made changes but cannot work out when.
From what I remember the changes are to the dash and console and also the suspension.
Does anyone have a date when they happened?
Thanks
David

Sounds like a good choice. Unfortunately I can't be any more specific than you, but I also remember the revised cars have body coloured front bumper inlays- not black. The same goes for the door mirrors.
Due to the adaptive learning of the ECU, it makes a big difference to performance to how the car was previously driven. It will be ecomonical if driven gently and fast if driven enuthsiastically.
To reset the ECU, disconnect the battery for a few minutes and reconnect. Beware however, that you may need to reprogramme the radio keys for the alarm and also make absolutely sure you get one with the burgandy coloured master key to allow this.

Can I point the learned gentleman toward our previous conversation.

That was with the new big nose update at the beginning of this year/end of last, can't remember which, I expect any of these cars would still be in the dealer network or maybe even where Alex suggested in his posts on the thread I sent you.
I think it was around about July 2002 the new interiored, slightly updated MK2 version came out with the 150 bhp motor.

bugger, july 2002 is going to be a bit new for us. The chap we are using gets his kit direct form the fleets and other garages so maybe he'll come up trumps.
What do you think £9k will get me?
Picking one up on Friday, March 2002 1.8 Veloce. Alloy Wheels, cream leather interior, 22,000 mills. 8.5K from Alfa main dealer.
