Forte Engine Flush - Should I be worried?
Discussion
I had the 125k service done on my Focus by a local independant who I use quite often, and they are very good.
They are a retailer of Forte products, and as such include them in every service. Normally I tell them not to use it because I think its horrible stuff, but unfortunately on this occassion I forgot.
Now I'm afraid that my nice fresh oil will be slowly breaking down from any left over engine flush that wasn't fully drained out originally. I've done 13 miles so far, now call me paranoid but is it worth changing the oil again?
This is the bad boy, sounds good on paper, but I've read enough horror stories to keep well away. http://www.forteuk.co.uk/product.php?id=43/Advance...

I have used Forte flush on my Saab in the past & also on my Subaru ... never caused me any harm yet.
If in doubt why not have a chat with your local garage that you use , I am sure he will be able to clarity any concerns ..
They'll most likely only tell me the marketing bumf thats on the website. Plus I wouldnt want to offend them as they've been very good to me in the past. If in doubt why not have a chat with your local garage that you use , I am sure he will be able to clarity any concerns ..
Used it loads and the only problem i've had is on a really really sludged up engine where the crap falls to the sump and blocks the strainer on the oil pump pick up but that was one engine out for over 50 and TBH i only did it cos it was a kill or cure kind of job cos the engine was so blocked and gummed up it hardly ran and even on that job dropping the sump and cleaning the strainer made it all fine again.
To so the same job a more sympathetic way i use cheap superstore diesel oil and change/run it 4 or 5 times.
