I just wanted to check the oil, and I couldnt turn the damn knob to release the hood!!!!! I dont know if joo's is on roids or something, but this knob is soooo damn tight.... my hand just slips like crazy...

any ideas fellas on what I can do to get this knob undone????

and joo, if you tightened that yourself, your slim size does not match your bull strength or whatever you used to tighten that flippin knob!!!
Too many takeaways me thinks!

or it could just be the heat and metal expansion or something thats sealed it tight.... now wheres that can of WD40...

I've come to the conclusion that its a combination of sweaty hands and metal fatigue... so I think I'll wait till its cooler and then use a cloth to undo it, I just cant get any grip right now...

not very strong? I thought you benched TVR's for a living...

Trying deperately to get back to the point of this thread, I understand it's the knob for releasing the bonnet that is the problem. If it's really stiff (aside - it's pretty obvious that Podie is nowhere to be seen at this moment, simply down to the endless knob gags available that are being allowed to pass) see if there is any play by pushing it in and out (toward and away from the rear of the dash) as you try to turn it, as mine got stuck on one of the fixing nuts that hold it in place. Otherwise it may be one of the nylon ends has snapped (does happen) or jumped out of its fitting (unlikely) and has locked the mechanism, in which case best of luck. Over to Jools again

SXS - you must have particularly delicate hands. I've never had any trouble unscrewing anything Joolz has screwed Perhaps it's technique?

Sometimes it's easier to get a good grip if you wear marigolds

I always have one of those chain grips (can't think of the exact name) to hand in the boot for that sort of thing.

so rudegirl you said "I've never had any trouble unscrewing anything Joolz has screwed Perhaps it's technique? "
you're on heat too????

But I have been able to turn the knob now, it had seized up due to heat, and that lack of grip due to sweat wasnt helping... so got an old rag and wrapped it around and unwinded she became, a drop of WD40 for the future applied too.
