Aston Martin at Le Mans?

Chaps, does anyone know anymore about the Aston Martin situation for Le Mans this year? I was reading on here that there is a (small) rumour that they may pull out due to performance/engine/design issues..... As a supporter I care but more importantly I dont want to sticker my car up in Gulf colours and then they not show up - selfish I know!!

Terrible news for Highcroft, David Brabham and Marion Franchitti. The HPD ARX-01e was looking to an absolutely cracking car, it's a shame that its potential may never be known now (or at least not for some time).Now wheres those Aston Youtube clips??

(LOL)Being an optimist I'm hopeful that some other poor bugger will get the hook and either Brabs or Marino still has a race.
They'd certainly be an immense asset to most teams. There may be a spot at Oak after Matthieu Lahaye's accident at Spa, but I suspect that is a long shot. Their main benefit of course is that they do not need to do the rookie laps.

My guess is that if they think the car could be even half way reliable they'll be there, even if they are dead slow. They'll have sponsor commitments that they wont want to fail on, plus it will be invaluable testing that's probably already paid for, at least in part.If they can remedy the cylinder problems, they might be able to finish, which is sometimes enough to net a decent result even if your one lap performance is pretty poor.

However, even if finishing, they have to complete a certain percentage of the winning lap count to be classified. Now the at the Kronos Lola-AMR is in from the reserve list it throws another variable into the mix. Will the factory (and their sponsors) be happy with being beaten by the old car, that didn't have an entry, run by a third party team (actually it could be argued fourth party as the car is owned by Orbello Racing and run by Kronos). I expect the factory cars to be there, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're not.
