Smiths and Jaeger Instrument connections

Hi, any electrical experts on here - my sparky's gone on his hols!

Need to wire up a couple of Smiths and Jaeger instruments but the terminals on the back are not marked - can anyone confirm when looking at the back of the gauge which terminal is which (fuel and temp gauges) ?

Some gauges don't care which way round they are connected. Others, if you get it wrong, will simply not give a sensible reading. Sometimes there is no marking and there is some color below the connector stud in the fiber insulating washer, red for +ve black for -ve. Can't give any specific advice without actually seeing the gauge. Always check if one is connected to the case -if it is then that is ground (earth) and should be connected accordingly.
