Is it true that the earlier T models had vertical mounted radiators but the later ones had "upgraded?" flat mounted radiators?

If so can anyone explain why / how this is better over the original?

Yes I think the earlier ones were vertical and later cars horizontal.

Sorry can't help as to why, but must have something to do with improving the cooling as the air intakes are very low?

My Tam has this setup. It was a trick employed by a company called Border on the old MR2. They would tilt the rad and vent the bonnet to aid cooling as the airflow was improved. It also aided aero dynamics a little (bit more front downforce supposedly). I'd suspect it's the same trick on the Tam etc, only our car maker did it out of the box and didn't rely on an after market tuner to offer it with body mods smile

It's not only the T models. My 2003 T350C has a vertically mounted radiator too.

I thought as much.

Are there any other mechanical differences between early and later models?
