Painting an Anti-Roll Bar

Hi,

Currently got my Griff in bits and before I put the front end of the car back together I want to tidy it up a bit. One of the really nasty looking bits on it is the roll bar, which until I stripped it back to bare metal, partly powder coated and partly bare rusty metal.

As ARB's are designed to flex, I dont really want to paint it and then find that the paint cracks when the ARB is in use on the car.

Can anyone advise what is a suitable paint to use please. Ta very much.

I used POR 15 - no problems with it cracking under flex.

It never 'really' fully cures.

Thanks for the replies. Ive only got a small amount of POR15 left so will be keeping it for repairs to the stuff Ive put on the chassis, unless its gone hard in the tin by that time.

I'll see if Ive got any smoothrite spray and give that a go.

Taaa for that. Reassuring to know I should only have to do this once, especially when everything else is in place in the engine bay as well.
