Question about HPI, please help....

Could someone take out finance on a car if they are not the registered keeper or would it show on the HPI anyway?

ETA: Not thinking of doing this of course, just want to confirm I'm covered for a car I'm looking at getting, (will be doing HPI).

I believe that you have to be the registered keeper to finance a car. Also, if the loan is secured on the car, then yes it should show on HPI...
