Some scrote helped themselves to the front fogs from both my 330d spt touring, and my sons spt saloon overnight last night!

I can't believe how simple it looks tho!

Four screws kindly left on the floor frown

Obviously loads on Ebay... four of them mine I suppose mad but the trouble is I'm not sure which bits I need 'cos believe it or not I can't remember what it looked like before! Should it have a duct

or just surrounds

Anybody care to post a pic of an 04 330d sport front end?

Now to phone Plod... wonder how interested they will be

Chris

Can't help with the fog lights themselves, but it might be worth checking ebay sellers who are close to you who seem to specialise in only selling these type of fog lights and advise the police of your suspicions, after all, if they're not dismantling BMW's for a business, where are they getting all their fog lights from?. (This same advice also applies to those selling Sport/MSport front bumpers)

I have thought of that. There is a pair of fog light surrounds in mystic blue (my colour)appeared about 12 hrs after mine went missing but the seller has no location listed - just a mobile number - I may phone and ask where he is.

It is indeed amazing how many sellers seem to have so many of one particular car part and nothing else to sell.. usually the 'easily removable' stuff like wiper arms etc. Scumbags

You have my sympathy....been there. In my case wheels and also many years ago body parts off my E36 M3.

Make sure when you put them back you find some way of fixing them rather more securely or they may disappear again....

If it makes you feel any better, my sister in-law had her complete front bumper including fogs stolen overnight from her BMW convertible. It amazes me how they have the b411s to do something like that when it's on someones drive.

Chris - should be just the surround on a sport (ie your second pic). Mine (on a coupe) came apart when a cat decided to headbutt my fog whilst I was doing 30mph. That was definitely the surround that popped out of mine.

Thanks for that, Still can't believe the whole thing is held in by one screw!! Presumably the surround jist 'pops off' and reveals the screw?

Google your car model then click images. Then look for a pic with a close up of the front.

Google is your friend...

Sorry to hear what happened, winds me up reading stuff like this.

Hope it doesn't cost you too much to replace/repair.

Even more amazing is that the bcensoredds have been known to come back and steal the replacements a few days later!. furious

That was actually my first move but oddly I didnt find a picture with enough detail. Anyway, never mind I'm sure I will find one in the flesh to have look at easily enough ... just have to make sure I don't get mistaken for someone trying to nick 'em lol

Have a look at one at a car dealers, that way they'll think you're simply a prospective buyer who examines cars in the minutest detail!. smile

Yep. As far as I remember the surround just clips in front of the light. There are 3 little plastic flaps that sit in recesses in the bumper to hold it in place. It's not even screwed in.

As someone said above, I wouldn't bother replacing them unless you wire them up to the battery for maximum electric shock potential can fit them securely. Without, they look like ducting a la motorsport vehicles... smile

Blimey thats good! Thanks for the link.. I shall get some ordered and I think I shall be replacing the fixing screws with star drive ones.. I'm sure the theiving scum only carry what they know will fit rather than a whole socket set.
