Omega PO strap
Discussion
I have an Orange PO 45 and have both the orange Croc strap and SS bracelet.
I think the SS bracelets are pretty expensive if bought separately (£550 rings a bell??). So you might be as well going for a non Omega rubber strap if waterproofing is important to you, and you don't want to spend a fortune.
DON'T take your Croc strap in the sea!!!
Ebay may be your friend for such things... Or there are plenty of places selling more upmarket straps.
I also use a cheap watchmakers toolkit for swapping straps - you just need to be careful not to scratch anything, it's not that difficult

I don't want the SS bracelet as want it to be totally different to my Submariner if that makes sense. Might try and get an Omega Rubber strap for it. I assume you can just buy these from the AD?I think the SS bracelets are pretty expensive if bought separately (£550 rings a bell??). I've just bought the Omega rubber strap and deployment clasp for my PO so I can swap between the braclet and strap depending on how i want to wear the watch. The SS bracelet makes the watch feel like a quality item but was getting scratched when I wear it for work. The rubber does wear very nicely and i think it looks much better than the full orange croc strap:-

Total cost was £283 which i was comfortable with given the quality of the clasp.

I've just had Northern Goldsmith call me back and they have quoted me £165. Total cost was £283 which i was comfortable with given the quality of the clasp.

I rang back to ask what was included in price but the guy didn't have a clue what I was talking about!! Going to call in tomorrow to make sure I can see what the price includes. I don't mind paying but I don't want some backward t

Maybe I should start another thread on this but will ask here.
I normally only take one watch with me when I go on holiday, but I'm thinking of taking my Sub too. If you have a few watches do you take a couple with you or stick to the one
all rounder? I know both of mine are diving watches but they have very different looks.

Just for info, I bought a rubber strap from my local AD and it was £115 (I already had the clasp). It took them three attempts to fit it. It also requires different spring bars to the original rubber strap, and there is no way I'd try to remove it myself.
I've ordered the SS bracelet from Omega in Hong Kong for £325. The dealer I bought the rubber strap from quoted £550!

I purchased this same Omega Stainless Clasp & Rubber Strap albeit with White Stitching for my PO around a year ago as a change to the easily marked Stainless Bracelet. My advice is don't bother... The edges of the strap have cracked and peeled and left it looking scruffy and cheap!Total cost was £283 which i was comfortable with given the quality of the clasp.

Considering the ridiculous price Omega charge I will not be making this same mistake twice.

I also find the SS bracelet is a scratch magnet. I have one of those spongy fine sanding pads to remove the scratches if they get too bad but I'd be interested to know what other PO owners do. Is it a case of a regular buff-up, or do you just live with it? My Seiko Monster seems capable of taking a severe beating without picking up anything like as many marks.skoff said:

Just checked and the underside of my PO strap is scratched to bits...must say, couldnt care less - it's like worrying what the bottom of your shoes look like!Gassing Station | Watches | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
