Hi all

Just got delivery of my t350c 2003 grigio titanio

I have a rattle/vibration from the engine bay its hard to trace exactly where as in resonates around the car it does not occur on tick over even if revved hard , only occurs when a gear change is required sounds like maybe a pipe vibrating against the inner wing , I think maybe front the drivers side where the battery is located, not had chance to get the wheel off & have a look as my jack wont go under & need to get in on blocks, will be having good look later as I don’t want it embarrassing me at Chatsworth . Any ideas what to look for as there does not seem anything in that area a/c or cooling pipes. It has been off road for a while so im hoping maybe the battery was disconnected & the cover not fitted correctly.

Have you checked the engine mounts?

Also, mine used to do it when i had the air-con on, something to check?

The Ariel is riveted into position (on a bracket) and runs along the PS side inner wing. When the rivet gets sloppy the Ariel tilts downwards & ‘taps’ on the inner wing. Took me ages to work it out!

Put steering on full lock and have a feel under the middle of the wheel arch. If you can move the rivet head you should hear the tapping noise. You can also remove the headlight access plate and do it that way if you prefer.

sorted & just in time

the metal tray bolted to the underside of the chassis was catching on the oil pipe & causing the vibration i have done a temp fix by bending the tray slightly it needs to comes of & a bit of metal removed to allow more clearance, it had put a groove in the pipe so would not hve been long until it had worn through & disaster

Sounds like an engine mount maybe goosed or going allowing the engine and oil pipe to sink lower and rub the stifferner plate.
Usual suspect is the exhaust side though both were fekked on mine (despite it being regularly serviced by a "reputable dealer")

ya. i recently done mine. smile i would look at getting that engine mount done asap. as it may start to pull on the oil pipes creating a leak thus new pipes to fix smile

Hello spirebart. Glad you got sorted with a T350 and sorry I didn't bump in to you or it at Chatsworth. Hope it is going ok otherwise?

We left fairly early - lunch and shopping at the farm shop when it looked like raining.
They are addictive and I am in no rush to part with mine!
How does it compare with the Porsche?

Ha ha, that goes without saying!

Looks great and Grigio is one of my fave colours (looking at my 1:18 model Sagaris in that colour)

Enjoy and hopefully see you at an East Mids event?
