Tucking into a ham sandwich for lunch and realised that the very healthy dollop of Englsih mustard is Heinz and not Colemans.

Its just not the same.

Any other brands you simply have to have?

Unless it was made by a former Question Of Sport presenter, it's COLMAN'S. Not Colemans.

Hellmans' mayonnaise. Heinz' version may be half the price but it's just not the same.

Heinz Tomato Sauce, HP Sauce and Lea & Perrins... nothing else does it for me despite the fact that I know I can make very similar versions of them.

The only mustard worth having. Make it up 15-30 minutes before you need it.

Supermarkets and posh shops always seem to have an olde-fashioned labelled 'premium' brand mustard/relishes but so far they're all show. Just don't compare with the real thing (even though they're usually owned my the mega-conglomerates these days).

Farrows marrowfat peas.

Realise this now marks me down in PH eyes as a Northern council house fatty.

Even though not all of that is true. paperbag

Only ever used to have Leo dried peas and they were for the pea shooter rather than to eat.

Exactly! The stuff in tubes, jars, and sachets is adulterated.
