Mrs MR2AW11 has a 14 month old car which has recently developed an
intermittant fault/annoyance in the air-con/vent system.

Essentially, there's an audible clicking which is proportional to fan speed
- increasing in frequency and volume as the fan's increased. So, she's
took it to the local franchised dealer who have said they'll take a look.

So, a few hours later she gets a call back saying they think there may be
twigs or leaves in the system, and if so, there may be a charge for the
work as the warranty may not cover this. Now, she's a tad miffed at this,
thinking an air-con system should have intakes designed to stop ingress of
foreign objects, certainly ones which would be large enough to interfere
with the moving parts of the system!

Am I being naiive to expect this sort of thing to be sorted as a courtesy,
since the garage is guaranteed three years' servicing out of her, or should
we really be expected to shell out a couple hours' labour charge for the
sake of foreign object which shouldn't have been able to get in?

Any thunks appreciated, ta.

There's a filter to stop pollen getting in, they'd have to be bloody small twigs to get past it.
