Favourite hot hatch?

What's your favourite hot hatch? The best all-rounder that I have driven is a MkV Golf GTI but personally I wouldn't say it was desirable. On the other hand, I wanted a 1.9 205 GTi since I was 10 and was lucky enough to own a 1.6 GTi when I was 22. 25 years or so since it was first launched, it still has that want one factor, scintillating to drive but objectively not as good as the Golf. In terms of the original ethos of a hot hatch being a practical, reliable, affordable car that you can use everyday all year round with enhanced performance over a "normal" car, my favourite hot hatch would probably be the mk4 Golf R32 (although I have yet to drive one). Large naturally aspirated engine, 4WD, looks subtle but agressive, high quality and sounds awesome.
My list would probably go something like this, although most of these are based on the "want one" factor, as I have only driven the Peugeot (although I did own a mk4 Golf 2.0 GTi which isn't really a hot hatch!)
1) VW Golf R32 mk4
2) Peugeot 205 1.9 GTi
3) Lancia Delta Integrale Evolution (I wouldn't have thought of this as a hot hatch at the time but it is a hatch!)
3) Renault Clio V6 (phase 2) - I don't really know if this a hot hatch or a mid-engined supercar that just happens to have in a hatchback bodyshell!
4) Honda Civic Type-R (the first one - I wanted one when I was 24 but the insurance was £3000!)
5) S1 Ford Escort RS Turbo (I don't know if they're any good but I just want one!)

1.Peugeot 205 gti 1.9 I will own one within the next two years!
2.Renault 5 turbo Old school turbo power.
3.Peugeot 306 gti-6 Just before peugeot went down the pan.
4.Alfa 145 2.0 TS The facelift in black mainly for the looks but from what i've read/seen they're a good steer!
5.Peugeot 106 rallye For that small revvy engine.

Well, I've owned a few of my favourites:
Citroen Visa GTi. (205 gti in an "ugly" body. Great handling, cheap and I liked the styling!)
306 Rallye. In white. Soo much fun on the highland roads when I lived in NE Scotland.
Seat Leon FR 170 TDi. Ok, it's a diesel, but it wasn't slow.
And my current steed - Clio 182 Trophy. Sadly going up for sale this weekend, for something more practical and boring! My small hot hatch days are numbered!
