What's your thoughts on this?
I have been in contact with the designer of the kit, he's very interested in having one with one of our conversions alongside this to put to the kit car world, so i'm in the process of striking a deal.
I have the shell, Grey Mk2 Mr2, the engine and box etc will be coming out the Roadster and then it's just body kit, paint and interior. Went down to Stoneleigh last weekend to have a look at it in the GRP.

My old man's always wanted one but we don't have the £100k sitting spare so i reckon this is the closest we will get.
What do you think, a nice homage to the original or just the most horrible thing in the world? The wheels will be smaller and the right offset so don't let that put you off.
It'll be lighter, have more power and a lot cheaper than the original (£15k, tops). Genuinely interested to see what other folk think. Be honest.

I really like it.
Im into kit cars, and admit that "most" of them are not my cup of tea.
That however looks classy. Its not about performance in my eyes with that particular model.
It would be a really nice project. especially for you and your dad!!
Would be superb with a V8, if that was possible. Older TVR engine or so.
Wheels are nice, offset is a tad funny tho. nothing major.
Would be cool for a sunday run up over the highlands thats for sure.
If your to soend the budget of 15000, You will get your cash back on it in years to come.
Enjoy....keep us updated

Olly you did say we were to be honest
I think it's sacrilege, this is a Dino we're talking about here,it just doesn't look right, the proportions look wrong. In my humble opinion it's better left as a dream rather than spoiling it with a poor immitation.
Just my opinion of course
being honest like you asked.
John.

I agree. I don't mind 're-creations' but this is just not right. Sorry.

Being an mr2 owner, I hate, hate, hate the replica ferrari thing. I went to stoneleigh with elliot and just had to laugh at the stand with all the mr2s that had been made into replicas. Its almost always obvious what's underneath and I'd rather have an mr2!
But... I do like that. Maybe because its a classic, rather than a look how small my penis and my wallet are! I say do it.

I would have loved a Dino. Kit looks ok, as with them all it's in the finish and detailing though, don't know what the demand will be, as there is also the Deon kit that can be Alfa V6 powered.
Deon don't exist any more, do they??As to the original question. I looked at the Dino Rep at Stoneleigh and was a little disappointed by the proportions. It also appeared to be riding a little high. I like the V6 idea, though...kind of appropriate.
So, it's an MR2 with a dress on. Does it do anything better than an MR2, or is it all about looks?
I think it looks pretty, but because it's a pastiche of something rather special; I would put it in the same category as a hairpiece or a fake Rolex.
Others may well really rate it, and it could sell in hundreds.
