It's my birthday weekend and I was planning to go away with OH. I was planning to go to Wales, little roadtrip to the seaside.
And then I've found out about Hedingham Castle meet, so of course I would like to attend it.

I'm not a big fan of East Coast tbh but happy to be convinced otherwise. Any nice seaside towns in this area ??

So far I've only been to Southend and Clacton on sea and I find both of them depressing...

Where would you go? Ideally I would like to leave on Sat morning, get there and spend the night, go for the show on Sun, stay another night and head back to London during the day on Mon.

Aldeburgh and the nearby Thorpeness are lovely, Southwold very nice too. About as different to Southend and Clacton as it's physically possible to be!

Sooooooooo true biggrin

Saffron walden, Stansted Mountfichet and Dunmow are all quite nice villages with a reasonable selection of pubs that offer rooms, food etc.

If you stay in or near to Stansted Mountfichet you could always drop in here as well.....but don't take your wallet biggrin

Woodbridge in Suffolk is nice. Mersey Island is interesting (give me six!) Maldon and Heybridge worth a look. Not on the coast but Dedham Vale is lovely.

You won't go too far wrong there. Snape Maltings is worth a wander around whilst you're that way.

Southwold a worthy mention.

There's a problem though. Apparently EVERY B&B in town is full. There's some music festival this weekend. Need to look further away...
