Seems like I am going to have to get new shocks on the Griff.I dont really want to splash out on Nitrons or the like.(House is taking alot of cash at moment)
How much are Avo's likely to set me back?
I gather they dont come with springs?

Any help appreciated.

had avo adjustables fitted t omy griff a few months back and they made the world of differance. still used the same springs as the rating was fine on them. unless your gonna do some serious track days i think these are suffient and lots of money saved over nitrons.

Speak to Joolz at Joospeed.
He is trying something else which I beleive is on two cars (rude girls and someone else).
Sorry for the scatty details but as far as I am aware they are as good as Nitrons but inbetween Nitrons and Avo's on price.

Have had booth AVO's and Nitron's on the Chimaera no comparison, the Nitrons are light years better in all respects.

I fitted AVOs to my wedge & found them to be ok but no where near as good as the setup on my Griff. i got them direct from AVO in Northampton , flashed my TVRCC card & got 10% off.

£70 each from Elite Motorsport, I got mine for £240 from Proven Products last year but my contact has gone.

Run mine with standard springs - no problems!

nearly .. the new joospeed dampers are priced midway between avos and nitrons cos they perform midway between avos and nitrons .. they have alloy bodies like nitrons for good heat disipation, but are twin tube so have smaller pistons like avos .. but they're built to my spec so i can bias them for different conditions, unlike the off the shelf avo which is a fixed spec..

From what I have seen the new Joospeed dampers look suitably spangly too. Particularly like the long top which will prevent any damper/chassis interference problems like the S suffers at the back.

Antonyj - FFG is right, Joolz' new setup is on my car - staffs isn't too far from me. I'll be at the S Meet at Silverstone at the weekend if you want to 'cop a feel'. Should find me no problem - it's a cherry, with rhubarb and custard interior and a roll bar.

It certainly feels transformed compared with the AVOs that were on before, and particularly compared with the standard setup it had originally. I'm happy.

There's a photo somewhere of me and GreenV8S each laid under a rear quarter yesterday proving that it's entirely possible to adjust without jacking up too

LOL .. funnily enough the mod i made after rude's fitment was to shorten the top eye on the front dampers and reduce the open length slightly. Rear dampers stayed the same long stroke for lovely soft springs .. yummy i can nearly taste the traction

the cerbera kit is performing great too

Joolz. Would you be recommending s spring change with these dampers of yours.
Might be needing some for a Griff shortly.

Hi Ian.
I don't do any suspension kits mail order any more, I got fed up of correcting bad set-ups that were nothing to do with the kit (and also correcting bad fitting that another garage had already been paid the labour for .. ), and also spending hours on the phone to customers who obviously hadn't a clue what they were doing.

Every kit sold by me now is fitted here, I'd rather turn down a sale these days than have one of my kits badly fitted, it does no-one any favours.

best wishes

I will be fitting the stuff myself Joolz so it won't be something i will be getting for someone else to fit.

They sound like very technical dampers then lol.

Well they may well be technical .. all I do is play with triple adjustable dampers, take the settings i like, give the dampers back and say *make those to that spec, these to this spec, etc etc*

that's as technical as i get
