Someone keyed my car
Discussion
Popped down to the station to pick up the wife and nipper and parked for less than 5 minutes. Spaces are always very limited and aren't really big enough for modern cars. The only space left was made smaller than normal by two newish Volvos both parking across the lines - to give themselves more room I guess. Anyhow I squeezed out of the drivers seat (without banging doors), so it can't have been *that* small a space really, and went off to meet the family. Came back to find one of the volvos gone and a 4 inch scratch down to bare metal in my drivers door. I'm failing to see a way it could have been accidental. Even if it wasn't deliberate I'm failing to see how it was possible to do without noticing.
C U Next Tuesdays.
I'm never really a fan of CCTV, but you guessed it, the one time I could have done with it, there was none.
Ok it's not a new car, but it's my car and I look after it - I don't appreciate some senseless dick deciding to scratch it for me.
Looking on the bright side it gives ammunition to my campaign with the wife that we should buy a beaten up old defender... When I had my S2a i'm sure it picked up the odd bit of car park rash, but i never noticed any extra dent or scrapes...
And on to the point of this very exciting and informative thread - I've never really done any bodyworky type stuff before - what's the best way of getting rid of really deep scratches? I'm thinking T-cut isn't going to do the job on a scratch which is down to bare metal.

Sympathies - its happened to me 3 times in the past 23 years of driving. The last time it happened was down the length of both the drivers and passengers side and the bonnet. Car was parked normally in a car park within a marked space.
Its one of the most infuriating feelings ever, I have no idea why someone would want to damage another persons property.

I feel your pain, to key someones car just as a random act is beyond my understanding, hope you can fix it.
I am planning an overnight stay and was taking the TVR Griff but I have just heard that the hotel I booked does not have its own car park and I have been advised that "most customers use the multi storey around the corner".
I was a bit unsure before but after hearing that the TVR will be sadly staying at home.
