They could all be like that for all I know. Can't say I have ever laid them back to back and noticed the difference. As they are handed I've always preped/painted them and refitted.
Sorry.

Hand built cars Eh.

Exactly Steve wink I am flummoxed TBH never noticed this before confused pictured sets on-line appear mirrored pairs, reason why I have posted this up is because I have purchased some quick release ones and the N/S as been a bh and I spent ages modifying the bugger because of the above difference headache

Are you sure those new ones aren't meant for a Cerbera, Simon? ...if so, that's the difference between Chimera and Cerbera ones?
I have some Cerb ones from Pete Essling, as yet unfitted hence easily checked, and they are a mirror image of each other, and identical looking to yours.

Thank you, that maybe the case as these come with nuts and bolts that the Chimaera don't use, I presumed both cars would be the same hinge maybe not

The black box under the bonnet just has a bolt bonded in either side. Mine broke so took it all apart & replaced with a solid bar. This took out the mis alignment cause by the add hock bolts. This meant i ended up with a nut on each hinge. It looks like your nut was removed to allow the bonnet to be adjusted.

This^^ ...with forethought in the nose moulding process, not only could they have used the same 'backplate' both sides but there was actually no need for them to even be handed ...and yes, used the same Chim hinge on all subsequent models ie Cerb
