Just driven it and had a proper look round.

Needs a skirt sorting and the front offside bumper painting, got a price from my bodyshop bloke for £100 for both!! Bargain.

Drives well, quick enough for what I need.

Only issue is that the radio screen is slightly pixalated.. Worth fixing?

So where did the 2K come from and what are they asking now?

3k now. Not paying 3k for it.

2k is what we gave the customer for it, and usually this is what we pay for them (as staff) = £200 admin charge.

I've just picked up this thread while idly searching on e39 525i Sport, as I've just bought one. Funny thing is it seems to match the spec of the car that you're talking about, not a particularly common spec I think. OkGo, I'm assuming you work for BMW main dealer from what you have written, is it the one with a double barrelled name and both words start with the same letter?

I'm just curious, as its such a coincidence that I would read this and see your post if it is indeed the same car. I'm very impressed with my car, I traded up from a '94 e36 325i coupe as I needed 4 doors for family and i'm still getting used to my new found luxuries!

Cheers, Ian.

This car went to auction, so if you bought it, I would assume you went there?

The garage was Cooper Cobham.

I'm sure that its the same car. I bought it from a private trader in Slough for 4k so I guess he picked it up at the auction. I'm well happy with it anyway, its a good step up from my e36 325i.

Did it have the knock on the passenger side of the bumper and side skirt?

No, only a slight kerb damage on the drivers side bumper right at the bottom. Anything on the passenger side has been very well repaired.

There's not too much to stand out. Its really clean inside, the radio display is the only fault I can find. There's slight damage on one rear seatbelt from child seat use and a few scuffs on the back bumper, probably from lifting a pushchair in and out.

Re your comment about too slow- I was originally looking for a 530i sport, but this came up on auto trader and looked like a nice clean car so I went for it. It moves if you wind it up, and is a lazy cruiser if you don't. I admit, the extra 40hp would be nice, but would be pure indulgence really for my use.

How do you like your 528?

Yes I remember the pixil problem actually!

The 528 is fine, it has a bit more poke than the 2.5, but is an auto, alas I have probably only done 500 miles in it in 6 weeks biggrin

I might be selling it soon as I use my pushbike far more.
