CL63 And CL65 AMG Models Revealed
Leaked images show styling tweaks for facelifted uber-coupe
Hot on the heels of the official announcement of the revised Mercedes CL, these first images of new AMG tuned versions have turned up on the web.
As you might expect the AMG models get more aggressive looks to match their additional grunt, which sources elsewhere have quoted as 563bhp and 663lb ft from the twin-turbocharged V8 powered CL63, and 603bhp and 737lb ft from the (carried over) 6 litre V12.
As well as a black mesh grille, the cars get extended side skirts and quad exhaust trims - squared-off on the V8 powered car, and ovals on the V12.
The V12 also gets 20ins alloys against the V8's 19-inchers, and a few bits of extra chrome. More info will doubtless be revealed when these leaked images become 'official'...

More pointless cars from Merc
Seriously, what is the point of a car that size, then only giving it 3 doors!? If you wanted a coupe, why get something that big!?
Merc, like BMW, have too many models IMO. They have models that seem to do exactly the same thing/ aimed at same market as other cars in their range.
Can somebody explain to me the need for the CL & E class model line?
Makes you wonder if the prices of these cars could be reduced by producing less models. Production costs would be less, allowing Mercedes to pass on that saving to the customers (lol....yeah right
).

Any more pointless than the identical model in every niche line up from BMW, (X1, X3, X5, X6, 530dGT)? If you want a big luxurious car with an unspoiled flank you go for two doors, that's the point. Even CLS like cars look horrid with their extra doors to me. What is the point of not making ever car like a people carrier using your logic???

The V8 should be mine in 2016.

+1 and 63 meant something. These updates are largely irrelevent anyway as this iteration of the CL follows the E in being *astoundingly* ugly, esp given the unfortunate nature of the previous models which were the best looking Mercs since the original 300SL.

No.Why do people buy a big car like the CL or E class? I imagine it is for the extra space you get in the rear. You buy the bigger cars over the smaller ones (c Klass) because of the extra passenger space. So you then go buy a car that makes it impractical to have rear passengers, since the people in the front need to keep getting out everytime the people in the back want to get out.
That's what I don't understand. And also, still unanswered;
What is the point of a CL Klass AND an E Klass? Are they not aimed at the same market?
I'm quite aware that it's 'horses for courses', and people have different tastes, but with BMW and Merc it just seems that they have so many models that appear to do the same thing. I mean, it must cost a lot to create all those different ranges and production lines.

Why bother to reduce costs when there are armies of people with serious cash who want to pay for the exact thing they want...?

if it was my money id rather this,

+1 Though I'm sure the new one is faster.
What happened to the nonsense about changing "CLK" to "E-class Coupe" and "CL" to "S-class Coupe", or is that only for America?
Mercs cars have gotten uglier, except for the C-class which I quite like. C63AMG =
