This gas heater thing didn't come with any instructions and I can't work out how to take the thing off the top.

I've tried playing with the little lever on the other side, unscrewing it, trying to force it off, push it down and twist it off, etc etc

I know I'm a complete tool for being unable to do this but I've never been good at this sort of thing

Turn the lever on the side anti-clockwise while holding the button on the lever in and it'll just pull off.

Does the lever not have three positions, ON, OFF and Disconnect, 90 degrees apart.

Maybe should have added that, ON is at lets say 180degrees, OFF is at 90degrees and disconnect is at 0degrees.

Thanks, that worked. I didn't realise it had a button on it.

Just a thought but I've had gas bottle connectors that where threaded the opposite way so an attempt to do them up meant you where actually tightening it.

Acetylene, Silane etc are left hand thread but heating gas like this is a clip-on type
connection.

With the control lever in the same position as the photo, then press the lever in, and lift off.
