Does anybody have any suggestions for a decent (and reasonably cheap) courier who will be able to shift a bumper across the country without too much damage?

Where is it going to and from? You might not even NEED a courier.

I used Parcel Force when I had to ship out my bumper - it was the cheapest by far. Even though it's a big size it's quite light. This was a few years ago so their pricing structure might have changed now.

Last time I tried to post a bumper using parcel force (many many years ago) I was told it was to long to be processed on their machines and they tried to significantly increase the price, annoyingly a few months earlier they'd happily taken one for me

I've used Uship before and always had good service.

http://www.shiply.com or www.uship.com/uk usually work out cheaper if you can find a man with van who's backloading or something. smile
