UK Road Trip: destinations and road suggestions needed!

I'll be setting off in a few days for a 10-14 day road trip round the UK with my gf. We're loading the 993 up with camping gear and going for a bit of an explore before we head to Europe for the same for 2 months or so

The UK part of the trip is completely open, we have no specific plans except that we'd rather not go any further west than Somerset/Dorset (that's for another trip) and don't fancy a ferry to Northern Ireland i.e. the rest of England, Scotland and Wales is fair game.

So, we're looking for suggestions for the following, any help would be much appreciated!

1) specific places to visit that are particularly pretty
2) particularly good roads to drive
3) good campsites/places to camp

In return, I promise to take lots of photos and post them up when we get back to show the fruits of our efforts

Apologies, missed that fairly critical info! We're starting near Newbury most likely, with first thoughts to head across Wales to Aberystwyth (so any recommended roads on way there would be great ), then heading north.

Say 200 miles/day on average would be okay.

I'm currently sat in the Applecross Inn, lovely drive here and the smoked cheddar and cauliflower soup is amazing AND the weather is almost sunny!
