So, I've now got great BT infinity speeds, but I get an really rubbish router to go with it.
Had hassle with it dropping connection for the last few days, BT are sending me another, but reading up on the issues online, would suggest the router is rubbish.

Happy to bit the bullet and pay up to £100, any suggestions?

My current wall socket looks like this https://www.amazon.co.uk/GENUINE-BT-Openreach-Inte...

So I think I need an ADSL/VDSL compatible one. I was thinking Netgear AC1600 looks OK from the Amazon reviews and I could have it tomorrow if I order in the next 4 hours....

I need to have something for Christmas if not the kids will not be happy when Santa delivers an Xbox One and no wi fi...

Really grateful for all the suggestions, thank you.

BT have put (another) one by courier to me yesterday afternoon, which is arriving today.
Typically the existing one started working again yesterday at 5pm and has been faultless which will hopefully mean it might hang on for a few more days over Christmas.

Then I'll keep an eye in the sales for one of the items above, potentially an Archer v600 as it would be within budget.

Seems to be quite a few unhappy people out there. "Smart hub BT issues" into Google throws a 17 page discussion thread on it:

My existing router hasn't played up again since I posted.
I've now got 2, the existing one in situ plus a brand new boxed one.

Is it worth trying to sell it or should I just send it back?
