Quickie here.
I've had a few odd questions around my decision to park up my high days and holidays car in the garage over winter. I appreciate it's not typical for everyday cars to be garaged anymore, even where people have garages available, but didn't think we'd reached the point where keeping a new convertible inside over the winter is considered odd.
I'm close to 40 now and starting to feel the existential sense that I'm losing touch. So, echo chamber, am I wrong?

I guess the main advantage is keeping bird s
t off the paintwork and also protecting it from UV. I've been going over the black trim on my Merc with some G Technic restorer as it was getting badly greyed-out in places. I now need to do the same to my wife's car.
A car port would be handy for the above and less schlepp.
Yes! Long-term UV damage is an underrated curse to cars, particularly red ones. I believe tyres suffer and crack due to UV as well.
