I've seen a couple of them flying together nearer Leuchars a few times although not this year.
PResume the ones you saw were part of the thing going on at Balado.
Three flew a similar path it headed south this afternoon. I've googled but to no avail... what's happening at Balado, WW3 prep?

There's currently something called 'Ball' sat over Krakow, apparently travelling at 1 kt, altitude 1145ft.

Wassat then? I'm probably missing something obvious.

I just tried to see what activity there is over the lost submersible at the Titanic wreck site. I briefly saw a Canadian coastguard aircraft, which was actually over Newfoundland, having returned from the site. I can't see any activity now, as that aircraft has also disappeared from view

The clue was in the squawk, 0033, paradropping.

Interesting indeed, the parachutes don’t appear to be ‘normal’ para types, more free fall, and the fact they’re dropping into water, are these lads from Poole by any chance?

Could be. Could also be the sub rescue team.

It's usually the Royal Marines/SBS getting dropped if the drop zone is out in Poole Bay. I had a post a while back, either in here or in "cool pictures of aircraft", where I'd taken some photos of parachutists and their RIBs being dropped from an A400M. The drop photos weren't brilliant - I was on the beach heading for Sandbanks, I'd have got much closer shots from Ballard Down/Old Harry Rocks. but as I arrived at Sandbanks a while later (I was cycling) three RIBs loaded with troops came into Poole Harbour. They also have a safety boat already out on the water in the DZ, to make sure we don't lose SBS troops unnecessarily in silly training accidents. I'd love to go watch this sort of thing regularly, but there's no forecasting when it will happen, for obvious security reasons.

They NOTAM when it’s going to happen. Normally a few days before hand.

Heard this and didn't have its sound in my mental library. Sounded pretty cool and was shifting.

Nice plane. Fastest single prop plane in the world I believe.

This went over mine yesterday. Presumed might be on its way?

On Monday I had two DeHavilland Chipmunks and two Tiger Moths over my house and today a Vampire. Also a Spitfire, Typhoon and a Bristol Blenheim/Bolingbroke smile
