108.8 this morning, slightly disappointed because I weighed myself yesterday and was 108.6 but weigh in day in Sunday so I guess I’m sticking with that!

Anyway, another 0.5kg off.
Ate a stload of bread yesterday, 2 slices of toast for breakfast, soup for lunch with couple of crusty rolls and a sandwich for dinner....

This morning, I was 109.7kg!

Looks like bread is off the menu again rolleyes

I weigh myself daily when I'm Phat Fighting. And can confirm that you will see a temporary increase in weight after a large amount of carbs (for me this is normally jacket potato). But also, you just need a good tom tit to shift it again.

Carbs get converted to glycogen which has to be held in the muscles dissolved in water. Big carb intake will suck in water. I think

Hi everyone.

I would like to join in here and would be grateful if someone could add me to the table. Here are my details:

paulguitar

Up to ~2kg either way is often just water retention/loss. The only way you'll get truly accurate figures every day is if you're doing a dry fast which - as the name indicates - don't have any fluids.

Paul : I added you to the table. Self-update every week is the usual 'meta' for everyone by clicking 'update' button at the top left and just amending your 'last update' and 'current wt.' fields followed by 'submit' button when you're done. thumbup

HTP99 : are you still playing or off the wagon? You're about to expire from the table from lack of updates and be thrown on the failures pile laugh .

LosingGrip : same question! Are you done or do you want retrieving from the failures list? You need to get a grip instead of losing it! tongue out

Still here! Despite eating well (other than an Indian last week) and going to the gym I out weight on! However, back down to 127.5kg now.

Could someone update the table with today's date? On my phone so can't.

Just had a email with a conditional job offer depending on my medical and fitness test...two weeks today. BMI needs go be as low as possible. Won't get to the 120kg target, but if I can get closer to that (medical form said 125kg) I'll be happier.

Just seen this thread & thought I'd pitch in.

Had a health MOT as part of our Vitality life insurance late December, came in overweight (87kg), with a cholesterol of 8.7 & high blood pressure where my systolic nearly matched my diastolic pressure, not good. Was sent straight to my GP who said I would HAVE to go on statins to reduce the cholesterol to below 5 as "there is no way you will do it with diet alone", I refused & said let me try. Worst thing to do with me is tell me something can't be done.

My diet wasn't bad really, possibly too much smelly cheese (I bloody love cheese) & would have a bottle of good cider 3-4 times a week whilst watching the box.

So I've cut down to one "recreational" drink a week, only having more if we are out or have guests, I've cut out the piece of cheese I'd often have whilst cooking & I make a nice salad with spinach leaves, baby corn, sugar snap peas with a portion of protein (chicken, grilled tuna, mackerel or salmon fillet) usually with a splodge of Sriracha sauce.

I used to do 3 cardio session a week at the gym (Mon, Weds, Sat) in the form of spin sessions, now I do double sessions on a Saturday (it's a killer) & have added a 2000 metre row after every spin session. In addition I try to either walk 3 miles every lunchtime or cycle 15miles on my Brompton.

I'm now down to 76.5kg (have been stuck there for two weeks), my blood pressure whilst still slightly high is heading in the right direction, my cholesterol is 5.2 & heading down & my VO2 max has increased by 13%.

Yes, this is my experience too; higher carbs and/or sodium intake will cause temporary water retention - seemingly 'permanent' if you eat that way all the time. Similarly, if you drink too little, it will give a false low weight as you will be dehydrated. But a balanced, healthy diet will see the water retention correct itself between 24-72 hours following a higher carb/sodium meal, depending upon the individual usually.

I'm 69.7kg today. 15.4kg down. So celebrating with my first pizza of the year this evening! I'll still be within my calorie and sodium tolerances though but could still see a slight temporary increase tomorrow.

The shame, I’ve been relegated into the can’t be arsed club on the progress table, because, well I haven’t lost any weight since the first dip.

But... I’m actually persevering at the gym for the first time in my life I’ve now managed 6 weeks going 2-3 times per week.

I’m generally feeling stronger in the upper body and have been slowly adding weight to the equipment when I can comfortably manage 10 x 4 reps at that weight.

On the rower I’m slowly shaving time off my 2k (now 8m 15) and working on my technique more. My 1k is under 4m but I don’t have the endurance to keep the pace up for another 1k yet.

I’m now starting to build the treadmill into my routine more and more and adding some jogging into the mix, generally doing 20 mins with different speeds and inclines.

Right, now I’m enjoying the gym, back to tackling my st eating habits and my bloody sweet tooth....

As you were!

You haven't updated your stats on the table in over 5 weeks so how are we meant to know you hadn't given up? wink

I know rubbish innit, because I haven’t lost any more weight, must have been turning it into muscle. Right now I’m determined to get back to the premier division.

Relegation to the championship sucks!

It's worth buying some cheep body fat calipers and watching a YouTube video as to how to measure, you might be surprised at how much fat you might be losing and muscle your putting on.
