50/50 lifeline, do people think it’s truly random?
I know the odds are low, but how often does the correct answer and one they have discussed as what they think could be correct come up after taking the lifeline?
I can’t help but think I’d only use it if I hadn’t already discussed my thoughts on each potential answer
It would make crap tv, but I wouldn’t think out aloud

This is a repeat which makes it a bit pointless for those of us who saw it the first time around.

Fair enough, my Sky epg normally says R too but doesn't on this occasion and it was the 6 contestant format so thought it was new as I can't recall this series.

She said the Windward Passage, which her phone-a-friend had said, but the answer was the Yucatán Channel, I’d never heard of the Bay of Campeche, but it’s off the Mexican State of Campeche, which I’d also not heard of.

Interesting, I was wrong, and missed the answer, I thought it was the Bay of Campeche which I knew as I have worked offshore there, never heard of Yucatan Channel.

Every day is a school day.

Shame they had to spoil it. Anyone who gets to £500,000 now you know will likely get the last question correct.

Its always bloody well annoying when the question they cant answer is one thats easy after they have blundered through all the obscure ambiguous ones.

After he went 50/50 I knew the audience would get it wrong but not by as much as they did. 80 odd% and he'd already spent the money...lol

BTW Dracula is a good read but Frankenstein is terrible.
I thought exactly the opposite. Frankenstein, although an enhancement of an original story, was a wonderful book with so many meanings and potential translations. Semi autobiographical in a way. Dracula? I found dull. The best book on the list was Conrad's Heart of Darkness, essentially the idea behind Apocalypse Now. A wonderfully dense novella packed with so much more than its pages should allow
bought HOD on this comment. TBH I wasn't that enthralled, there were two other short stories with the main novella, End of Tether and Youth. Thought they were a better read.overall. Just couldn't get into HOD

Maybe TWO folk managed to arrive at £500,000 successfully?

I can't believe that JC was so nice to the chap that bailed out at £8k. The JC that we know and love would've/should've/could've panned him!
