I doubt it. Mercedes rarely seem to make that sort of mistake.
It would be good for the sport and everyone else if they did occasionally.
If the shiny new floor doesn't work on the car like they thought it would, they probably have a second more conventional option in the truck ready to try. Because Mercedes F1. They went to the 2019 second test with completely different bodywork to the first test.

The good news for the season is that RB has started like they finished 2020, new Honda engine looking strong.

Conditions were obviously unrepresentative, but Red Bull will be very happy after a strong display. Let’s hope for a clean track tomorrow.

Well, now we know why they were hiding the floor from everyone at the launch! That looks like being the product of more than a few million in R&D spending, just before the wind tunnel limits and cost caps came into effect.
Clearly the form increases surface area beneath the now narrower floor.. But also it looks like a series of overlapping layers with space in between - I think it may be to create laminar flow. We use the same sort of technique with water to flow more water at higher velocity. Same works with air - could be used to both increase flow and aid venturi effect and also better control the air as it exits beneath the floor.

Team Haas mid season update: Remove barn door.

Result: "Why we fock go slower? have you ever seen this fock like this before!?"

- Still beats Williams.

Much brighter, clearer and less dusty today - should start seeing some form shake out today, I would think.

The alpine looks so good doesn't it? Love the way the light plays on the blue - now the sand hue is cleared and we can see it smile
