Just binged up to date over the last week and both the presenters and the bakers seem to have improved.

Some brilliant bakes although I'm sure there's a better team to be had than the 70s week. Not sure why they throw in the havingbro be vegan twists. Surely it's better just to try and make the best.

Couldn't pick a winner and agree that they appear to be disregarding previous weeks efforts in the vote.

A good bit of TV where as a few years ago I was contemplating not bothering watching.

Now started watching the Australian version to get more baking fixes. Interesting that they too have a hight % of foreign contestants. They've got a Brit in there and I think British judges.

Talking of foreign contestants they keep mentioning the (I think) Dutch guy having a funny accent on the extra slice. While he does appear to have some influences on his English. I thought he was native and would love to speak another language half as well as he does.

Agreed. I hope Georgie doesn't crack in the final. She had a right panic tonight.

she was stressed the moment that semi started - i thought dillan might have it all his own way, but the other guy pulled up a blinder of a few bakes - perhaps he's peaking at the right time.

Dillon had another wobbly week, he's so talented but needs to nail every bake next week to win.

Certainly think the best 3 have gotten through this year to the final, could go any way really if they all deliver.

Dylan is 20!

I like the way he connects with Noel, they seem to get on well

Agreed i think the 3 of them where in my top few from the start. They've been pretty consistent too. I think I'm hoping Dylan will be the winner. Hard to believe he's only 20.

Is it scone as in gone, or scone as in cone ? Paul and Pru are going with gone, Alison seems to be fluctuating.

She knows the correct way to say it, but she's trying to fit in with the others.

She started the correct way, but has started with the cone now. Oh, and it's jam first too biggrin

Do people who insist on jam first also do the same on toast? And putting fillings in a sandwich first with mayo on the middle?

It’s very odd.

Baked product > dairy product > filling/spread product

Definitely jam first. How can you get jam to stay on top of a large dollop of cream?

The only acceptable alternative is a ring of clotted cream with the jam in the middle, like a jammy dodger.

How do you spread jam on top of a respectable amount of cream?

Jam first, nice thin layer, then a dollop of cream on the top.

Georgie to win. Dylan has fluffed it, Christian dogged by his obsession with weird flavours.

Agreed, Christiaan went too far with his unusual flavour combinations.
