Some earnings and shareprice growth may well improve next year, or at any time for that matter. It's going to be at least partly dependant on the specific business sector, management skills, takeovers etc. I doubt that Brexit will affect too much next year (or 2019.....)
Maybe - guess we shall see.

But Brexit is already driving negative sentiment. One of a few factors yes but a pretty big factor. Also contributing to inflation that is starting t bite.

Mergers and take overs wont necessarily help and will of course almost certainly result in a consolidation

Brexit fears are also being over-hyped by some people with their own agendas - but that's for discussion on other threads !

Greggs share price up 40% over the past year.

But I reckon they will go bust as I don’t like their tomato sauce. We should launch a PH hedge fund.

Have you seen that iPhone X? It’s st. They won’t be around in a year.
Nice summary of approx 90% of this thread smile

You think those figures mean Greggs will be gone next year, then you are wrong, any analysis shows that.
Are you for real?? OBVIOUSLY they're sound.

Every time c&a gets mentioned in this thread ( third time now?) I buy bitcoin.

Which reminds me of that ancient joke which went soemhting like this: Why do Essex girls have a c&a label in their knickers?

I always thought that was the USP of Travelodge.

A bed for the night, a shower in the morning.

Minimal "Extras" such as food, toiletries, phone etc and the price reflected it.

I know many will say people want more now but there is definitely a huge market for a budget offering.
Yes that’s true, they are budget for a reason, although, recently I was working in Pembroke, the travel lodge was 25mins away and £130 a night, the premier inn was 30mins away and was £85 a night and had a restaurant in it.

Premier inn every time for me while working away. All the hotels are the same so you know you’re getting a decent bed shower and meal.

I’ve stayed in loads and never paid more than £33 a night but I have booked ahead.

If I were quoted £130 for a night then genuinely the car would seem very appealing.

I (or rather my company) paid £160 a night for one near Waterloo Station. I know it's London, but £160 ! (it was booked about a week in advance).

Strange, I've never paid very much at all. It's never a first choice for me but sometimes it's the only suitable place for a night's sleep.

If you had checked what else was available at that price in that location at the time you would probably have been thankful for the travelodge

Tesla. Emperors New Clothes. Just don't get it. Dot Com and Tulips comes to mind.
Try posting that on the Tesla forum (or to a certain extent, the “Telsa and Uber to Fail” thread) and you’ll find out why it probably won’t happen. They love the Emperor’s shiny new clothes over there.

Tesla is like watching one of those Roadrunner cartoons, when they run off a cliff. One gets to the other side, the other falls. Elon Musk is trying that trick. If he can keep going until Model 3 is producing solid cash flow, he will be fine. If he is forced to stop, then he will fall. Right now, with the hype around FAANGs and US big tech, no-one is going to stop him. He currently can raise enough cash to pay for the $1bn a quarter cash burn almost indefinitely.

But if anything changes, or Model 3 roll out remains mired in difficulties (looking like they are getting past that now but too early to tell for sure) , then Tesla is toast.

I did. That was the only place my company's fantasy allowances would let me book. I don't think they have revised the limits for hotels for the last 20 years. Tossers.

My nomination is Euronics. ...and I would imagine the only people that go in there are very old.
My in-laws shop there because they appear to like being ripped off ! Mind you, most old people seem to enjoy paying over the odds for things you can buy a lot cheaper with the magic of the internet.

I reckon as older people pop off, those shops that charge way too much will just run out of customers - and slowly die. Like their current customers in fact !
Funny that as our local store has just expanded.

Always busy and will normally price match.

Euronics are all owned by individual stores who trade under the Euronics brand to give them some high street recognition.

In my last place I'd always buy my white goods from my local branch as they'd generally price match, knew what they were on about and would be far, far easier to deal with than the likes of Currys. (Wife bought the washing machine from them, they had one in stock and as they were a little quiet, they offered to install it there and then! Missus, the machine and the fitter all went in the van! Top blokes.). Compare to Currys when buying a laptop where we had to walk out due to the constant hard sell for warranties and other add on nonsense. Terrible buying experience whenever we darken their doors.

All you need to say is "Ah, so you are telling me it's not reliable then ? In which case I will not be buying it". That normally puts a stop to such sales nonsense..

I'm gonna suggest Travel Lodge.

Crap hotels, poor or non existent service, shoddy food arrangements, if any.

While Premier Inn is not the last word in accommodation, it's much better than Travel Lodge.
I stay at both for work, and given the choice I'd always go for Premier Inn. Travel Inn are a bit crap. They sold off 50 or so about 4 years ago and they nearly went pop.
Likewise.

The last time I had to stay in a Travel Lodge, the only catering was a BK and Subway next door.

WiFi in the rooms was £6 a night but if you bought a coke in BK you could have unlimited WiFi and free refills.
I'd always go for Premier Inn. Incredibly comfortable beds, always an on-site eatery of some kind. We stayed in one in Inverness last Thursday. 2 rooms for 4 adults £90? Can't complain about that.

What about Little Chef - or have they already gone?
They'll be gone by mid-2018. All being replaced with Greggs and Starbucks franchises.
Our nearest - Balhaldie on the A9 - is shut both northbound and southbound. Northbound is now a Subway.
