ERROLL: A? Something up with Eric then?

HAROLD: Put it this way, apart from his arse being about fifty yards away from his brains and the choirboys playing hunt the thimble for the rest of him, he ain’t too pleased.

Confused as to how some people define under apprciated, a couple at films touted here are award winning and considered classics.

Thursday is another one that seemed to pass under the radar.

Yes, the Last Seduction was a 90s classic.

1. The Game (1997) Michael Douglas

what I want is to be able to forget the twist in this film and watch it for the first time again and again. It's fabulous
I'd forgotten about that one, yes, it's a great (watch once) film!
Ah “the game” sorry!

The game is a great movie though, agree if you could forget the ending it would help repeated viewing but still

Love judgement night too, really tense and seems to be a movie where you can place yourself in the scenario

Mr Brooks, definitely KCs best work

Harold and Maude - Very funny and dark comedy

Mr Church - Probably Eddie Murphy's best film.

Rarely hear of anyone who have heard of it but most love it once they see it.
I’d not heard of it, but based on your recommendation I’ve just finished watching it. Well worth 90 minutes of my time. Although it felt much more like a stage play than a film.

Adventures in Babysitting. Loved this as a kid, one of those ones I'd rewatch over. Was called Night on the Town in the US, ste title.
Just a good, rollicking yomp that the 80s could dish out, normally butchered in editing (like Ghostbusters, Princess Bride, Dirty Dozen) when put on by today's telly.

It’s an interesting film. Agree it’s more like a play.

I'm enjoying this thread and watched The Game on Netflix at the weekend, after it was mentioned here...loved it!

Not sure if the following fall into the category of underappreciated but I'll mention them anyway...

Under Suspicion - It's one of my 'go-to' movies on holiday, when you're just back from the beach with a couple of hours to kill before you head out for dinner. I'm pretty sure the DVD came free with a Sunday newspaper, which suggests to me that it's underappreciated but I think it's great.

The Lives of Others - I think it was on here that I saw the recommendation, so I made sure I recorded it whem it was on Film4 a while later. Scores highly on IMDB etc. but not a film many people I know have seen and I thought it was brilliant!

Last Action Hero - flopped at the time and has gained a bit of a bad rep since no one knew what to make of it. But if you view it as intended, which is as a parody of 80's action movies and not an 80's action movie, it's pretty good.

I'm guessing that it's the Neeson/Cranham movie from 1991 you're referring to, and not the later Hackman/Freeman movie of the same title/different plot entirely?

I'd happily watch either one of them again though...

I have always thought of the brilliant 'Pan's Labyrinth' as one of those, a forgotten foreign language gem. Only to find it won several Oscar's and a hatful of other awards getmecoat

Pan's Labyrinth is a masterpiece. It would make my top ten, if I was the sort of bloke who made lists of his favourite films.

I think it falls into the category of “great films that not enough people have seen”. Which applies to a number of the films on this thread.
