Exactly the same as my 540i which is good to know. RE insurance, A 55k is cheaper for my to insure than an E39 M5!

I'd say there's no way in hell your rear plate is legal though!
Well, let's put it this way, i've not been tugged for them yet and i've had them on my last 2 cars!

Fair enough, you must be lucky! I think it would look better without the surround on it.

Yeah im not really a fan of the surrounds either, but I hate screws in number plates and mercedes have weird 4 screw mounts on the rear so i need to find a solution around that!

I love that car but I think modifying it is a definitely the route of diminishing returns. It's not one of the many Mercs improved by AMG wheels and lowering it makes it look silly. And modifying it for more performance seems daft, how much more do you want? If you're after something sportier, just buy that. As it it is, it's very classy and very sleek. I'd just enjoy it for what it is, a very special car.

I do actually agree with you completely, it's just my modifying habits are hard to overcome! I have intention of doing much to this car at all - most of my time and money that i've spent so far on this has been cleaning it up and making it look like it's just rolled out the dealership. I adjusted the height a little as I found it was still a bit wallowy and i want to put AMG 19's on because the 18's look lost in those big arches.

I've recently bought a new puppy who is a French Mastiff who will be far too big to put in the CL so i'm on the hunt for an S4 Avant to play with anyway so that should stop me messing with the CL for a while!

Well there's a lot going on in my office at the moment, but if it all pans out like it's meant to, i'll definitely be keeping this, which has actually made me really happy! I ordered a new France Nav disc for it yesterday which arrived today ready for the Euro Trip in June, I just need a Spain one and im on to a winner!

Wowzer, didn't realise it had been so long since I last posted on here! quite a lot has happened to this car since I was here last, but to cut a long story short, I was meant to be driving this around Europe as we speak with some friends, I saved up all the money and then everyone dropped out one by one due to other commitments. I then started thinking about changing the car for something with 4 doors and a bit better on fuel, something like either a CLS320cdi or an S320cdi, but then I remembered im a man, and I love V8's, so I kept it, and threw the money I had saved up for my trip at the car. It went from looking like this:

To looking like this: (taken at DC12 last weekend where it took 1 place "Best In Class" for Mercedes.

(big windscreen will be gone soon!)

I know to everyone's taste, but the height adjustable suspension means i havent' lost any of the cars drivability, so it still shifts!

In two days time, I too will turn the grand age of 24 and as an extremely competitive person, I am quite upset that not only have you owned 2 more cars than me (I thought I was doing rather well for my age) but you also currently drive one of the most beautiful cars Mercedes have ever made.

Further more, you have 'Stanced it', with every fiber of my body wants to Hate it! but... I happen to think it looks glorious.

I salute you sir

More pictures please..... even just to add the Salt!

I'm not sure what the tint is mate, the car has a light tint all round, but the screen is factory standard, from what I see.

Oh yeah, I've also had custom back boxes fitted to make the rear look a bit more aggressive, and now it sounds awesome! especially on full chat through tunnels!

This is a rear rolling shot:

Haha, I was only joking matey! Defo look at later CL55k's if you want one, coming down in price and a lot quicker than this!

The wing decals are just from an American forum called luxury4play.com

Young Merc drivers seem to be few and far between, I'm on my second and still thinking about a third by the end of this year!
