Why don't supermarkets have what you want?
Discussion
My main beef with supermarkets is that the beef jerky invariably lives on one of those hanger displays and is never found in the same place twice ![irked](/inc/images/irked.gif)
It is part of the excitement of the weekly shop, guess they must be trying to keep it interesting for jerky lovers, but the toiletries aisle (where it has been found on occasion?)!!!![wobble](/inc/images/wobble.gif)

Probably off sale till the BBQ season
This is the point from a supermarket's perspective. They are after all businesses looking to maximise their return. Consequently, there are teams of category managers whose job it is to assess the sales performance of each sku & if it isn't working, it goes & something else comes in...amongst many other factors. An average Tesco will carry 30-40000 lines. An average Lidl will have 1500-2000 lines, this concentrates the mind from a supply point of view as for example my business distributes the porridge you can but in Lidl & we're all wondering what happens in July & August when the weather is nice & hot.
Anyway, first world problem.

Try Amazon for unusual stuff: http://amzn.to/1jeHXBi
My recent Amazon buys include Kashmiri chillies, amchoor powder, ajwain seeds, black cardamom and kala namak. Of course any Indian grocer would have all this at a quarter of the price, only there isn't one within a two-hour drive. Thank Heavens for mail order.

My father tells a great story about when his local Safeway got turned into a Morrisons and they stopped selling half cucumbers.
My dad asked some manager guy why he had to buy a whole cucumber that would inevitably get chucked out when it went off. Manager's reply was "as I've told the last five people that have asked me the same thing, there's no demand for them."

Scotch Bonnets - they appear at random every 5 weeks and then vanish.
You could buy that from any african grocers or indian ones (not sure if polish grocers stock them). We get a bag of about 15-20 or so and crush it twice a week into a chilli sauce with oil, lemon and seasoning. I hate all other chilli sauces as a result. Want Branston beans, macaroni etc? Then don't go to Tesco as they don't stock Branston products!
And they only sell extra-fast mover Uncle Ben products too.
And don't try to get Cravendale milk on a Saturday before 10am because they won't have it! And they're unlikely to have fresh Paninis before then either.
No wonder I changed to Asda!
The only thing I go to Tesco for now is their New York bagels, since Asda don't sell them.
If only we had Morrisons or Sainsbury's or a Waitrose near us - but nearest is 12 miles away!

64kms to my local grocery store, unless I want the over priced stuff in the resort supermarket. 40kms to go and buy petrol. You learn to be organized.

These

They were on the shelf at Asda for about 3 weeks and are now gone never to be seen again.
Asda, Sainsburys, Tesco and Morrisons, I have asked at all 4 and no-one knows what I am on about. Were it not for the google images proving their existence I would think I had imagined them.
Not an official Nestle UK product. I think they're made in Eastern Europe for their own market.![](http://thumbsnap.com/sc/YMCUhRTP.jpg)

You may be able to find them in speciality sweet importers

Really odd that Asda had them on the shelf then. Asda was the only place I had ever seen them, not even another Asda store a few miles away had them. That in itself isn't that that strange though as the selection and even prices do vary from store to store.
Possibly just a mis-pick (occasionally stores receive something similar, but not the same, as they ordered. They often make the decision to just sell them anyway!Gassing Station | Food, Drink & Restaurants | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
