I have bathed my hands in hot water, salt and fairy liquid for about 30 mins now, then dipped them in acetone.

The acetone seems to be drying it completely out, and it seems to be rubbing/scraping off reasonably well, at least on the top of the hand.

I will keep at it!

Oh and it bloody stings like fk, when acetone hits a cut!!!

My OH works with jewellery and she had been colouring some silver using nitric acid. Only the gloves split...

So last Friday night we went to a wedding reception with two fingers on each hand dark brown!

You cannot wash it off and basically have to wait for the skin to shed!

I used to get tiger seal etc on my hands often when I worked in a body shop, I found the best way to get it off was to wear rubber gloves for a few hours, basically sweated it off

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this but I spent half an hour with my hands covered in acetone recently, your skin will most likely fall off soon.

You need to .

Oh fk it, I'll say it....

Have you tried baby wipes?
+1 They really work for a wide range of stuff and even removed crude oil from a pair of my trainers!

Get in the bath with some 200 and 400 grit wet and dry.

No, I'm not joking!

When I used to fix and paint cars in my early years, all the guys who were going out with some bird that evening would fight over who got to wet flat the cars that day, as it was the only time they ever got clean hands!

Acetone works fine with the PUs (Tiger Seal, Sikaflex, etc.) as long as it's still wet. Once it's dry, you're fluked.

May have worked with the other stuff, but now I suspect it's too late.

Rubber gloves -- beforehand -- recommended.

Fill some proper rubber marigolds up with degreaser and stick your hands in therm for half an hour, it'll just wipe off after that

the glove things works really well, In a past life I was the world's worst floor painter/restorer and I used to get covered with epoxy resin all the time.

The best method of cleaning the stuff off was to wear the gloves I should have worn in the first place - after a couple of hours inside cheap unbreathable gloves it would all be "sweated off"

Thinking I would now be the tidiest worker in the world, I would then remove the gloves as they were horrible to wear and the cycle would repeat until I realised I really was crap at that job.
