Anyone who has watched Gommarah the series, will know all about Naples...
Mmmmm - You'll have an idea, but I think that's like saying you'll know about Rome if you watched Spartacus, Blood and Sand! biggrin

In a way I'm a bit miffed about this being on TV as I'd just found out about Baiae and was looking forward to diving it this year, but now it'll be packed! frown

Worth having a look at the BBC site that goes with the show, they have a YouTube 360 video for each of the programs with a narrated flythrough of one of the scans from each one.

A programme on Italy without food shown is unthinkable...cool

OT but Rick Stein's long weekend which was on yesterday, from Bologna was just great.

I think of the point of that piece was to explain about the clams that come from the Venice lagoon and showing them being cooked and served up in a dish. If I recall when Giorgio Locatelli and Andrew Graham Dixon filmed an episode of Italy Unpacked in Venice they actually went fishing for the clams in the lagoon.

I was at Durham School with Mr Armstrong. He's three years older than me, but we were in the same boarding house.

He's Alex!

I met him on Pointless a while back, some of his mates use it, and different forms came up (Alec, etc). Not sure why sorts would get annoyed by how someone gets referred to by friends.

I like Xander, but I do prefer the format and style of that NIgerian/Scandie bloke who takes celebs away from the weekend.

A bit of a mishmash. Who was the other British bloke who seemed to know everything about Venice & then started butting in on the Australian (??) Venice expert?
It seemed like a good jolly though.
