Some slightly dated special effects but so cool to have the correct aircraft, that's what made this a classic (even if they had the wrong engines)

The Wermachtt sack a small Russian village, killing and raping then rounding everyone else up and burning them alive in a church.

I've been meaning to watch this, forgot about it- will watch it tonight!

The last samurai, The last battle where they charge at the line of machine guns. Great film, really sucks you in I think.

Woof! Woof!

To be honest out of the hundreds of war films that i have seen over the years the beach landing scene in SPR is the one that always sticks out in the mind first of all.

I am sure that there are others that in the moment felt absolutely right but it is that one that stays with you, even though it must be well over 5 or 6 years since i even saw a scene of that film.

Another nomination for me.

The bit in 'Who Dares Wins' when they all join up and run alongside the corridor. hehe

The opening barrack room scene from Full Metal Jacket.

I also like the firing range scene... "Outstanding Private Pyle, I think we finally found something that you do well..."

...but only because I used to fire my APWT at that range, and if I could swing it, I'd use lane 11 or 12 (because I never could decide which of the two Pte Pyle was on during that scene).

For sheer gung-ho-edness (it's a word) you can't beat the hot extract from Act of Valour. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrtt.

Trivia - the Miniguns were live firing during the filming of that scene

For theatrics - Apocalypse Now, Ride of the Valkyries.

This. Or maybe Operation Market Garden for the close-quarter battles. SPR was pretty eye-opening in it's day, but it seems pedestrian compared to BOB (although I admit I have watched BOB all the way through maybe 20 times).

Accurate!! No no no no no.... It's Hollywood fantasy meets World Of Tanks nonsense.
Why? I remember reading about a Spitfire (maybe a Hurri) pilot attacking a tank for sts and giggles and scoring a ricochet hit that somehow penetrated the engine = dead tank

Some of the scenes in The Pacific are quite good, the one with Spiderman as well was quite good (released recently, was a medic)

With a Rolls-Royce engine, without which the P51 was more of a Model T Ford of the skies.
