Ok I got pics. It's actually about 2ft out. Whoops. Still, the wheels are on my property, so technically it's off the road, right?

The driveway isn't perpendicular to the road, so the corner of the van sticks out.

I'd say that was blocking the pavement & you should move it.

It It was genuinely from the council it wouldn't have been hand delivered. Someone has taken some letter headed paper (most likely a council tax bill) photo copied it blanking out the lower portion leaving just the heading then typed out their own wording then photo copied it again before posting it to you.
Its just an ar5e hole neighbour with no bottle to confront you, the weedy goofy nerdy type with very little else in their life..
Did they also build a time machine? No one has done that since 1997, and even then it would have been a pensioner. Council website, Right click the logo, copy, paste into word. Job done.

No photocopies or hours of your life required and it won’t look like a child has done it.

But you may be right on the motive.

I'm not giving you her name unless you're going to hammer frozen sausages up her?

A friend of mine had a hand-delivered notice from the Council, threatening a fine if they did not trim their enormous bush.
Needless to say, his wife was affronted until she realised it related to a conifer that had expanded about a foot over the pavement.

Now whether they walk or drive the streets looking for offending bushes, I know not but could this have been noticed on such a reconnaissance?
Good on the council, too many lazy arse@d barstewards letting their bushes cover the pavements, obstructing signs etc

There's an actual reference so seems legit. I guess we'll find out when I call tomorrow.

Looks easy enough to navigate by both wheelchairs and prams to me...

It’s blocking the pavement to some extent. There is no get out around the where the wheels are.

That sticks way out into the pavement

Although that said it looks like a fairly stty bit of pavement, maybe it hasn't been adopted by the council

Needs moving in my view. If it’s like that 24/7, I can see why it’s annoyed the neighbours.

If it is genuine and the council were to try and remove it do they have right of access to your property to do that?

Lots of pavements everywhere looking fairly stty nowadays, not helped by people in heavy vehicles parking on them.

I think that if I were your neighbour it would piss me off. Would I call the council - no.

So this flow chart from Encams/Defra is part of the abandoned vehicle policy on the council website.

It gets to the bit where it says 'Is the vehicle on a road?' In my eyes it either is or it isn't. The fact that they've given me a 15 day removal notice indicates that it isn't. Hence, I can object and they can't take further action... In theory.
