The Hobbit films - I (mostly) enjoyed the LotR films but the trailer for the first Hobbit film put me off as it had singing in it so I never saw it at the cinema.
Keep trying to start it when it comes on TV but I just can't sit there and watch it. I've seen the first part of the big battle in the third one several times but just lose interest when the small band of dwarves come out of the fortress thing.

LOTR was the first thing that popped into my head when I read the thread title as well.

I've never seen The Godfather all the way through either.

I’ve tried three or four times to watch Blade Runner, but have dropped off every time.

It should be right up my boulevard, but it doesn’t do it for me somehow.

Maybe it’s time to give it another go.

I am saddened to see people saying this about Fight LCub, one of the best films I have ever seen, it just goes to show that we are all different, especially when one sees some of the stuff I consider tripe being praised or given high praise on review forums etc.

Fight Club is ever more apt, and the book is even more explicit in ways. A genuine piece of filmmaking gold.

Am presuming the same people fell asleep during Magnolia, another piece of absolute gold.

I’d say it was a great film. One of the best in fact!

For me, I know a film is good if I’m still awake at the end.
I’m the opposite. Manage to stay awake to the end with crap movies. All the ones that are worth staying awake for I’m normally gone after 1/2 hour. Had to watch some films half a dozen times before I see it all.

I’ve tried Bladerunner on several occasions too. I kept going back to it wondering what I was missing, but I guess it’s not for me either.

The original IT

fking hell that film should be used an alternative to Anaesthetic before surgery. It put me to sleep when I saw it on VHS some year ago.

I’ve just watched fight club for the first time in ages.
I can understand how people have stopped after 20 minutes or so. It a bit “out there”
But, just as I remembered - it’s an absolutely powerfully awesome film!

Who said Lawrence of Arabia? Anyway, this, I've seen the start about 5 times, it looks amazing in 4K and all that, but I seem to lose interest about 20 mins in, and it's nearly 4 hours long.

Titanic is another one, but for happier reasons. The GF I had around the millennium was obsessed, she use to be so into the whole 'draw me like one of your french girls' bit we'd get side tracked wink I've never seen it past that point. I don't remember much of the start tbh, it's completely interchangeable with 'Far and Away' in my memory.

Agreed, it's one of those dirty, edgy, gritty films of the 90s that would have kids these days pissing in their knickers, or something like that anyway.

I mean, ffs do you want Tyler Durden or angst ridden Superhero reboot 72?

It took me about 4 attempts to see Risky business all the way through.
Not because it wasn’t any good but because I seemed to have a succession of girlfriends who wanted to watch it on VHS when their parents went out and something else always seemed to come up hehe

I find this thread quite interesting, because I struggle to not watch a film all the way through. If it's something I haven't watched and I catch it on TV part way, I won't watch it as I haven't seen the start. Then once I have started watching from the start, I need to finish it. Some of them were hard work, but there is something that stops me from just leaving them...

I remember watching something recently and thinking "WTF was that about?" at the end, hoping that it would improve throughout, but it didn't. I can't remember what it was now...

It’s adolescent, pseudo-intellectual, undecipherable condescending wk, and a box-office flop at that. Not that I’ve managed to see more than half an hour of it smile

Quantum of Solace.

I've tried, lord knows I've tried, but it's such a piss poor film. I don't have the patience, sorry, I've too much going on in my life to allow myself to squander 2 1/2 hours of my life on that dross.

And I think that's the only film I've never seen all the way through. Baring, of course, the dirty films that used to be on Channel 5 on a Friday night.

Guardians of the Galaxy

I like the Marvel films a lot but I just can't gel with this. 3 attempts now and just always switch off.
