I know it's almost a joke how many special editions Lotus churn out but there are a couple that stand out for me.

Any of the type 25 Elises:

And the Exige club racer.

I've always liked the Lotus Elise 49.

And the Impreza Series McRae, from a time when competition cars were far more closely related to their road-going siblings.

The Polo Benetton

I always thought they were a bit a joke. The Polo scrapyard special.
I think a lot of recreations are exactly that. I still love them though smile

Lots to choose from these days but I always liked the Aston Martin vantage V12 spitfire edition…special mention to the DBS SL 59 edition too.

I would guess the shell, as the other panels are bolted/welded on and could be replaced?

I've always been a Renault fan and they did some great special editions from the R5 Raider, Clio Williams to the later RenaultSport specials. Back in 2009/10 I was in the mood for an RS Twingo 133, always liked them and thought they looked good. I opted for the Gordini edition, of which they were only selling 200 in the UK, I got number 110.

Now I admit, it's not the most special of special editions, rather than performance they went down the more luxury route weirdly but I still own it and am still a fan of the 133!

What was the Dakar? I know there was a 2cv Sahara with two engines, but never heard of a Dakar. I'd love something more information, adore 2cv!!

The colour of that has reminded me of another one that I really really would like to own one day.

Saab 9-3 Viggen, developed with TWR. There seems to be quite a few of the cabriolet for sale. But I want the 3 door coupe.

Such a pretty car. Not a special edition, but a Saab I'd love to own is the GM900 three door with the v6 engine and manual box. Dunno if there are any left but always seemed the thinking man's VR6 to me...
